Police Investigating Damage Caused to Cars in Billingham

Police are receiving a number of reports following cars being damaged in the Billingham area yesterday evening, Monday 15th February.

So far, police have received fifteen reports of vehicles being damaged. The first report was made at 8.35pm on Devon Crescent and subsequent reports were made on Marton Drive, Stokesley Crescent, Atwick Close, Skripka Drive, Bowes Road, Flodden Way, Hastings Way, Redworth Road, Cockfield Avenue, Weardale Crescent and Bannockburn Way.

Most cars had windows smashed, however, some were even deliberately driven into, causing damage to garages and other vehicles.

It is believed that the suspects used a vehicle to travel around the area to carry out the damage and to deliberately damage other cars. This vehicle is possibly a Vauxhall (potentially a Corsa), which will now have suffered front end damage.

Any witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of those responsible is asked to contact Inspector Darren Bainbridge at Cleveland Police on101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
