Appeal after Woman Verbally Abused by ‘Salesman’ in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after a 65-year-old woman was verbally abused by a man who was supposedly selling items in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Sunday 21st February when a man knocked at the door of a property on Kirkgate Road in Linthorpe and asked the woman if she would be interested in buying items from him. When the woman said no, the suspect made threatening comments and verbally abused her before making off in the direction of Thornfield Road.

The suspect is described as white, of slim build, aged in his early 20’s and around 5 ft 7” tall with short brown hair and crooked teeth. He was wearing a three-quarter length weather-proof jacket and was holding a white laminated piece of paper with black print on it.
