Appeal for Good Samaritans to Come Forward Following an Assault in Normanby

Police are appealing for three good Samaritans to come forward after they intervened when a man was being assaulted in Normanby on Friday 26th February.

The incident occurred between 1pm and 1.15pm opposite The Premier Shop on Flatts Lane/Hollwalk Avenue in Normanby when a 44-year-old male victim was pushing his pedal cycle along the cut leading to Bankfields Road. He was attacked by an unknown man with a knife, who cut his face and assaulted him.

Three men came to the aid of the victim and intervened when he was being assaulted. Police would like to speak to these men as they may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

The victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he was treated for a broken collar bone and was released following treatment.

The suspect is described as aged in his late 30’s to early 40’s, of medium build, 6 ft tall with brown hair and wearing a black coat and blue jeans.
