Appeal after Two Women Robbed on Greylands Avenue, Norton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man robbed two women on Greylands Avenue in Norton.

The two women, aged 19 and 21, were approached from behind at around 7.45pm on Saturday 5th March. He attempted to grab one of the womens’ bags and pushed one of the women to the floor before producing a gun and threatening them. The women handed over the bag and the man ran off along Greylands Avenue towards Albany Road.

Detective Sergeant Stu Hodgson, from Stockton Volume Crime Team, said: “We know that the suspect in this robbery produced what is described as a gun and he threatened two women before making off with a handbag containing two iPads. At this stage we don’t know if the weapon was an imitation firearm or not, however, I would urge people in the local community not to have any undue concern and to contact police if they have any information which could assist us with this investigation.”

The suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 6” – 5ft 8” tall, of slim build and aged in his early forties. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood pulled up over his head, a grey scarf wrapped around his face and black jeans.
