22-Year-Old Man Assaulted Following Collision

Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was assaulted following a collision.

The 22-year-old male cyclist was in collision with a vehicle, believed to be a blue Nissan, at around 12.30am on Friday 18th March on Lonsdale Street, Middlesbrough.

Whilst lying unconscious on the ground it is believed that he was then assaulted. As a result of the incident the victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries including broken teeth, a broken nose and stitches to his lip. He was later released.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and has been released on bail pending further enquires.
