Appeal for Driver to Come Forward Following Collision on Yarm Road, Eaglescliffe

Police are appealing for information after a driver failed to stop at the scene of a collision involving a small hatchback vehicle and a cyclist.

The collision took place on Tuesday 3rd May at around 8am on Yarm Road, at the traffic light junction next to the Cleveland Bay Public House in Eaglescliffe.

The 66-year-old male cyclist suffered a broken hip, a fractured right hand and grazes. He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees where he remains, receiving treatment for his injuries.

Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene and police would like the driver of this vehicle to come forward to assist with their enquires.

Anyone with information regarding the collision, the driver of the vehicle or anyone who witnessed it is asked to contact PC Yvonne Herbert from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the event number 078331.
