Summer Crime Prevention ‘Pop up Shop’

Between 12pm-2pm on Friday 17th June at Morrisons Supermarket, Lord Street, Redcar.

Following on from a successful crime prevention ‘pop up shop’ last month at Hartlepool Library, another event has been arranged to raise awareness of crime prevention steps with additional advice around online fraud prevention from a member of staff from Barclays Bank.

The event will be held at Morrison’s supermarket on Lord Street in Redcar this Friday 17th June.

Steve Cranston from Cleveland Police Community and Partnership Team will be in attendance, along with Police Community Support Officers to offer tips and advice. They will be handing out crime prevention information and freebies such as alarmed padlocks and property marking pens.

Crime Prevention and Architectural Liaison Officer, Steve Cranston, said: “Our last pop up shop was very successful and lots of people attended throughout. The pop up shops are a great opportunity to get advice on how to prevent insecure burglaries, thefts from gardens and theft of bicycles.

“This time round we will have a member of staff from Barclays Bank with us to provide additional advice on online fraud prevention.  We are extremely pleased that people are enthusiastic and eager to attend our crime prevention events as it is important for us to raise awareness of the simple steps that people can take to prevent themselves from becoming victims.”

We look forward to seeing you there!
