Summer Crime Prevention ‘Pop up Shop’

Between 12pm-2pm on Monday 4th July/ Central Square (near Boots Opticians), Hill Street Centre, Middlesbrough

Over the past year, crime prevention ‘pop up shops’ have been extremely successful across Cleveland.

A new ‘pop up shop’ has been arranged to take place on Monday 4th July in the central square (near to Boots Opticians) in the Hill Street Centre in Middlesbrough to raise awareness of crime prevention steps with additional advice around online fraud prevention from a member of staff from Barclays Bank.

Steve Cranston and Gerry McBride from Cleveland Police Communities and Partnerships Team will be in attendance, along with Police Community Support Officers, to offer tips and advice. They will be handing out crime prevention information and freebies such as alarmed padlocks and property marking pens.

Crime Prevention and Architectural Liaison Officer, Steve Cranston, said: “Our crime prevention ‘pop up shops’ are always very successful with lots of people attending. Each event is a great way to get advice on how to prevent insecure burglaries in your home and thefts from gardens and bicycles.

“We are pleased that people are so enthusiastic about attending the crime prevention events as it is important for us to raise awareness of the simple steps people can take to prevent themselves from becoming a victim.

“A member of staff from Barclays Bank will also be on hand to provide additional advice on online fraud prevention. We look forward to seeing you there!”
