Officers Continue their Enquiries to Trace Motorbike Riders Following Collision, Stockton

Officers are continuing with their enquiries to try to trace two males on a motorcycle which was involved in a fail-to-stop collision in which a 36-year-old woman was injured.

The collision took place at around 2.40pm yesterday, Monday 18th July, on Durham Road in Stockton, around 30 metres north of the junction with Holburn Park.

At the time of the collision the motorcycle was carrying two males, one wearing a helmet and one without. They did not stop at the scene.

The bike is believed to be a blue Honda CBR, possibly with an 05 registration plate. A motorcycle similar to the one described was reported to be on fire in Snowdrop Close, in Hardwick, yesterday evening at around 6.30pm. This bike has since been recovered.

The injured woman suffered a broken left leg, a suspected broken right leg, facial injuries and internal injuries. She is being treated at James Cook University Hospital and is currently in a ‘poorly but stable’ condition.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked PC Anthony Cairns from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 128522.
