Appeal for Witnesses Following Collision on A66 Eastbound in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after a Volkswagen Polo and a Toyota Yaris collided on the A66 Eastbound, close to the North Ormesby off-slip in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Tuesday 9th August at around 5:40pm.

As a result of the collision the 80-year-old female driver of the Toyota Yaris was taken to James Cook University Hospital where she was treated for a fractured lower back.

The 46-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Polo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
