Elderly Couple’s Property Targeted by Suspected Rogue Traders in Stockton

Police are appealing for information after three men claiming to be repair men targeted a property on Elton Grove in Fairfield, Stockton.

The incident occurred on Wednesday 26th October at 11:50am when the men arrived in a white transit van and approached the occupant’s property and offered to clean their drive way and re-seal it for a cost.

The 77-year-old female and the 85-year-old male occupant agreed to the work before the three men completed only part of the work, took the money and left the property.

Over £300 was taken from the victims.

All three of the men had Irish accents. One of the men is described as being a white male, aged around 40-years-old, of medium build and around 5 ft 8” tall. He was wearing a ¾ length leather jacket. One of the other men is described as being around 18-years-old.

Officers would like to warn people to be extra careful if their home is approached by unknown people asking to do work at their property potentially be rogue traders.
