62-Year-Old Woman Assaulted in Thornaby

Police are appealing for information after a 62-year-old woman was assaulted at the Tedder Avenue end of Allensway in .....

... Thornaby, near to the path that leads up the side of the Asda supermarket.

The incident occurred just before 6am on Saturday 5th November when the victim was approached by an unknown man who tried engage her in conversation. The suspect punched her in the face and then walked off towards Tedder Avenue.

The victim was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees with a suspected broken nose.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his late 20s to early 30s and between 5 ft 6 “ tall and 5 ft 8 “ tall, of medium build and clean shaven/ fresh faced. He was wearing a dark jacket a beige/light coloured ‘old mans’ flat cap and it is believed that he may have been intoxicated at the time.
