54-Year-Old Man Assaulted in Ormesby

Police are appealing for information after a 54-year-old man was assaulted on the footpath leading to Thursby Drive in Ormesby.

The incident occurred at 8:45pm on Monday 7th November. As the victim was walking along the footpath when he noticed a vehicle driving along the path.

After a verbal altercation with the driver of the vehicle, the driver got out of his car and punched the victim twice in the face before driving off.

As a result of the assault the victim suffered a broken nose, a cut to his eye which required stitches and bruising and swelling. He was treated at James Cook University Hospital.
