19-Year-Old Man Robbed in Redcar

Police are appealing for information after a 19-year-old man was robbed as he crossed West Dyke Road in Redcar.

The incident occurred on Sunday 27th November between 4-4:30am when the victim was passing the Racecourse Wine Lodge when he was approached by an unknown man.

The man threatened the victim with a broken bottle and demanded for him to hand over money. The victim handed over £10 and the suspect headed off towards Redcar town centre.

It is believed the suspect was scruffy in appearance and was wearing a bright blue sweatshirt (possibly Adidas) and dark coloured trousers and he is a white man, of average build, around 5 ft 8” tall and in his late 30s with a shaven head. He is also described as having a strong southern accent.

The victim was uninjured from the incident.
