Witnesses Sought After Woman Dies Following Fail-to-Stop Collision, Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after an 84-year-old woman sadly died following a fail-to-stop collision in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, shortly before 11am today...

Wednesday 7th December.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene, leaving the woman injured in the car park area of the Parkway Shopping Centre, opposite KFC.

The woman received treatment from paramedics, however, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers would appeal for anyone with information regarding the vehicle or the driver, to contact them. The vehicle is believed to be a dark coloured saloon car and it may have made off in the direction of the Lingfield Farm Pub on Coulby Farm Way.

Acting Detective Inspector Matt Hollingsworth said: “We are dealing with a serious incident, as a result of which a woman has sadly died. I would strongly urge the driver of the vehicle that made off from the scene to come forward and speak to us.
