Appeal For Witnesses Following A Burglary & An Attempted Burglary In Yarm

Police are appealing for information after a burglary and an attempted burglary occurred in Yarm yesterday, Monday 9th January.


The first incident occurred at 12:50pm when the occupant of a property on Bridge Street (off Yarm High Street) disturbed a man who had thrown an object at the rear patio doors in an attempt to break into the house.

Once disturbed, the man made off from the scene and he is described as a white male, around 30-years-old, around 5 ft 7” tall, of slim build and he was wearing a blue jumper with a white t-shirt underneath, dark bottoms and dark trainers and he spoke with an Irish accent.

As a result of the attempt burglary, the patio doors have been cracked.

The second incident occurred at 1:30pm on the same day when a property off the High Street in Yarm (to the rear of Uno Momento) was burgled and jewellery and watches were taken from the premises.

It is believed a man is responsible for the burglary and he is described as a white male, with dark hair and aged in his late 30s and wearing a grey fleece jacket.

Officers believe both of the incidents are connected.
