Police Appeal after Elderly Man is Robbed, Eston

Police are appealing for information following the robbery of an 84-year-old man in Eston on Thursday 2nd February.

The incident happened at around 11.50pm as the victim walked towards the pizza shop on Fabian Court from the direction of Eston Labour Club.

A man approached the victim and punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the floor. The suspect then took the victim’s wallet from his pocket and stole a small amount of cash from inside.

During the struggle, the victim punched the suspect, causing a tooth to fall from the suspects’ mouth.

The victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment for facial injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 6ft tall, of skinny build with a local accent. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, dark denim bottoms and baseball style trainers high over his ankles.
