Warning Following Potential Bogus Caller In Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information following a potential bogus caller in the area of Jupiter Court which is the Admiral Avenue area of Middlesbrough.

It is believed a woman attended the addresses on three occasions between 10am and 11am on Sunday 12th February stating she was cold and looking for someone or that she needed a glass of water which allowed her to enter the victims’ homes.

Once the woman was in the properties she has attempted to take cash from some of the victims and managed to take £25 from one of the victims and then left the properties.

The woman is described as being between 20 and 30-years-old, of slim build with dark hair. She is also described as being around 5 ft 3” tall and she has a distinctive way of talking (as though she could be missing some teeth).

Officers would always advise vigilance with cold callers and would suggest to never let someone into your home if you don’t know who they are.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incidents or the suspects is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mark Doherty on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
