Save A Life And Surrender Your Knife

Cleveland Police is once again supporting a national knife amnesty, known as Operation Sceptre, in a bid to tackle knife crime from Tuesday 2nd May to Monday 8th May.

Last year there were 1,103 offences involving a knife, blade or sharp implement and some of these included; 39 threats to kill, two murders, 381 assaults with injury, 241 assaults without injury, 136 possessions of a bladed or pointed article and more.

Our last campaign was very successful with 106 knives and sharp objects handed in.

Officers are urging people to surrender their knives for the latest national campaign and once items are surrendered they will be safely disposed of.

If you have information about knife crime please contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
