Three Vehicles Stolen as Drivers Made Deliveries, Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after three vehicles were stolen after being left running whilst drivers made deliveries in Middlesbrough.

The first incident happened on Bollington Road in Easterside at around 5.40pm on Friday 14th April. A black Vauxhall Insignia was stolen.

The second incident happened at around 12.35am on Sunday 16th April on Northern Road in the town centre area. A silver Vauxhall Corsa was stolen as the driver delivered a pizza at a nearby address.

A further incident happened on Endsleigh Drive in Acklam on Sunday 16th April at around 11.20pm. A silver Suzuki Swift was driven away from the scene and collided with three parked cars. The car was recovered and the offender made off from the scene.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Waterfield, from Middlesbrough Volume Crime Team, said: “In each instance, the drivers have left their engines running with the keys in the ignition and opportunist thieves have taken full advantage.

“I would urge other drivers not to leave their cars unattended with their engines running and would ask that anyone with information regarding these incidents contacts police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Matthew Waterfield on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
