Attempted Robbery on Grassington Road in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery which occurred at a property on Grassington Road in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred at around 8:30am on Friday 24th March, when two men entered the address armed with a sharp implement and threatened a 63-year-old woman and then assaulted a 73-year-old man by punching him in the face.

The first man is described as being tall, of big build and around 5 ft 6” tall. He was wearing a grey tracksuit, a red high visibility jacket and a woollen balaclava.

The second man was wearing a woollen balaclava, a black tracksuit with a yellow high visibility jacket and black woollen gloves.

It is believed the two men made off in a small white van into the Saltersgill estate.

Nothing was taken from the property and the male victim did not receive medical treatment.
