25-Year-Old Man Robbed in Redcar

Police are appealing for information after a 25-year-old man was robbed whilst cycling through Locke Park in Redcar.

1 The incident occurred on Friday 28th April at around 8:15pm when the victim was approached by another man who was also riding a bike, believed to be a light blue mountain bike. The man hit the victim in the face, causing his glasses to break which cut his eye lid.

The victim then cycled away through the park, followed by the suspect and three other men who pulled the man from his bike on Mersey Road and made off with it towards the Lakes Estate. The stolen bike is described as a white Giant mountain bike.

It is believed that the suspect on the pedal cycle was wearing a grey and black coat with the hood up and he is thought to be aged between 16 and 20 years old.

The victim did not receive medical treatment following the robbery.

Anyone who may know the identity of the men or anyone with information is asked to contact PC Richard Sweeney on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
