Man Seriously Assaulted in Yarm

Police are appealing for information after a 44-year-old man was seriously assaulted following an altercation in Osbournes pub in Yarm.

The incident occurred on Friday 14th April at between 11-11:30pm when the victim became involved in a verbal altercation with a man inside Osbournes pub. The victim then left the pub and crossed the road outside when the man approached him and punched him in the head from behind, causing him to bang his head and face on the floor. Whilst on the floor it is believed the man then kicked the victim in the head and torso area and then ran off.

As a result of the assault the victim suffered a fractured skull, a broken nose, bruising to the ribs and two black eyes and he received treatment at the University Hospital of North Tees.

The male suspect is described as being white, between 25-27-years old, around 5 ft 8”tall, of stocky build with short blond hair combed forward and he was clean shaven. He was wearing a dark t-shirt and navy blue jeans.
