Attempted Robbery in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for information after a 34-year-old man was victim to an attempted robbery whilst cycling on the footpath on the A689 approaching Newton Bewley in Hartlepool.

The incident occurred at around 10:20pm on Thursday 25th May as the victim tried to cycle past two men and one of them pushed him off his bike.

The man then assaulted the victim and tried to steal his bike but after a struggle, the victim managed to get back on his bike and ride off.

As a result of the attack, the victim suffered a cut to his head as well as bruising and scratches to his arms. He received treatment at the One Life Centre in Hartlepool.

The first suspect is described as being a white male, around 5 ft 10” – 6 ft tall, aged in his mid-20s with short dark hair and of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing which included a hooded top and he may have suffered an injury to his right arm during the incident.

The second suspect is described as a white male, of the same height as the first suspect and of slim build with short, dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue jumper or top, light coloured bottoms and white trainers which looked brand new.
