Police entered the property in Harford Street in Middlesbrough at around 3pm on 31st May and found over 237 plants across three floors.

Two men, aged 20 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and have been released from custody with no bail conditions whilst the investigation continues.

The Community Drug Enforcement Team will lead on the investigation and was established to focus solely on the impact of drug misuse across communities in Cleveland and gather intelligence from members of the public to tackle crime.

Specialist drug officers are asking for people to continue to provide them with intelligence about suspected drug dealing in their area.

Detective Constable Andy Peacock said: “We’re dedicated to removing drugs from the streets of Cleveland and bringing to justice those who are responsible for distributing narcotics on our streets.

“We highly suspect that these plants are cannabis and are continuing our investigations to identify anyone who may be involved. I would always urge people to come forward with information, even if they think it may be insignificant it may be the last piece of the puzzle that we are looking for.”
