Woman Robbed in Southbank

Police are appealing for information after a 51-year-old woman was robbed whilst sat at a bus stop on Middlesbrough Road in Southbank.

The incident occurred at 3pm on Friday 16th June when the victim was approached by two women who grabbed the victim’s purse from her handbag and ran off towards the underpass which leads to Asda in Southbank.

The first suspect is described as being a white woman, around 5 ft 6” tall, of thin build, in her mid-thirties with dark coloured hair which was in a bun on top of her head and was wearing dark trousers and a black jacket.

The second suspect was also a white female with mousey brown long hair which was either in a bun or a pony tail and she was of slim build and wearing white coloured trousers.

Following the robbery, the victim was uninjured but has been left shaken and frightened.
