53-Year-Old Woman Robbed in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after a 53-year-old woman was robbed near to the junction of Oliver Street and Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred at around 8am on Friday 23rd June when the victim went to get into her car when she was approached by a man who grabbed her handbag.

The man then ran off along Oliver Street and he was pursued by two male members of the public. Officers have spoken to one of the men but would like the other man to come forward as he may be able to assist with enquiries.

It is believed the suspect is around 30-years-old with short brown mousey hair and he had a scar on his left cheek. He was also wearing mint green shorts and a dark hooded top.

The victim was uninjured.
