Sonny Stephenson Death, Further Police Appeal

Cleveland and North Yorkshire Major Investigation Team would like to identify a man who was seen walking on Ash Road and Park Lane (close to Park House Care Home) in Guisborough between 21.10pm and 21.35pm on Sunday 27th August – the day before the August Bank Holiday.

The man was wearing blue jeans, a beige or light grey long sleeved jacket, a black baseball cap and he was carrying a black rucksack.

The CCTV images of the man are from minutes before a collision in which 17 year old Sonny Stephenson was fatally injured.

Officers in the case would also like to trace a man and woman who were walking along the alleyway between Uppergarth Gardens and Bolckow Street in Guisborough at 9.15pm that same day, Sunday 27th August.  Although there is unfortunately no CCTV of this couple, they are known to have been in general conversation about having suffered vehicle crime, and they appear to briefly mention a quad bike.

These members of the public could be key witnesses to the events which led to the death of Sonny, and police are keen to trace them and speak to them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number.
