Robbery at McColl’s in Hemlington

Police are appealing for information after a robbery occurred at McColl’s in the Viewley Centre in Hemlington, Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred at 7am this morning, Monday 27th November when a woman walked into the shop with a weapon, threatened a staff member and demanded cash from the till.

A small amount of money was handed over to the woman and she left the shop. She is described as being around 5 ft 5” tall, of slim build and she spoke with a gruff voice and a local accent. The woman was wearing a dark hooded top, a baseball cap, grey jogging bottoms, a pair of vintage looking white trainers which were dirty and a black scarf covering the lower part of her face.  All of the clothing was described as being too big for the woman.
