Appeal for Information after Report of Affray/Assault, Yarm Lane, Stockton

We are appealing for help in identifying two men believed to have been involved in an affray which was reported to have taken place at approximately 3.15am on Sunday 17th December.

Two men say they were walking down Yarm Lane in Stockton, towards the High Street when they were approached by a man in his early 20s who knocked one of the friends to the ground leaving him unconscious.  It is alleged he then attempted to assault the other man.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, 5’10” tall, of slim build, with short mousy hair and wearing a black tracksuit.

The first victim was helped by members of the public and was then taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees where he received treatment for facial injuries.

It is further reported that the same suspect and two other men then attacked two other men, and knocked a member of the public unconscious during the affray, opposite Jokers and The Garrick.

Police would like to identify another alleged suspect who is described as white, in his early 20s, 5’ 10” tall, of proportionate build and wearing a light blue weather-proof jacket and dark bottoms.

It is reported that the three suspects left the scene in silver Peugeot which was parked near Jokers.

A 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police would welcome any information which could help identify and trace the other two alleged suspects.  Please contact DC Ryan Cairns at Cleveland Police via the 101 number.
