Appeal for Witnesses Following Collision in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information to a collision in Middlesbrough.

The collision happened at around 11am on Wednesday 3rd January involving a greyVolkswagen Tiguan which collided with a bus stop on Normanby Road and continued over a grassed area before colliding with the front of a house on Ainsworth Way, destroying the front fence and causing an outer wall to collapse. Fortunately no one was injured as a result of the collision.

The 34-year-old male driver was detained at James Cook University Hospital as a result of a pre-existing medical condition.

Anyone who may have witnessed the manner of driving of the vehicle immediately prior to the collision or the witnessed the collision itself is asked to contact PC Steven Mills from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 001491.
