Police re-appeal for witnesses to serious assault in Middlesbrough after victim loses sight in his eye

Police are again appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Middlesbrough in the early hours of Saturday 23rd December.  The victim in the attack has now learned he has lost the sight in his eye and may lose his eye completely.

Officers received the report of a man being hit in the face with a glass in TS One on Linthorpe Road at 1.20am on 23rd December.

The 52-year-old victim suffered a life-changing eye injury, which will affect the rest of his life.

Two men involved in the assault are described as:-

The first is of slim build, with brown hair and aged between 20-25 years old.  The second male is believed to be older – perhaps in his 40’s.  They made off down Southfield Road onto Wilton Street.

Police are particularly interested to speak with the two blond females and male to the right of them who were speaking with the victim at the time of the attack (as seen on the CCTV footage outside of the pub) - they are asked to contact police as a matter of urgency.

Motorists – particularly taxi drivers who may have been in the vicinity at that time who may have witnessed the attack or have dash cam footage are also asked to get in touch.
