Appeal to Trace Witnesses Following Alleged Assault and Attempted Robbery in Stockton

Police are appealing to trace two possible witnesses that may be able to assist with enquiries into an alleged incident of assault and attempted robbery.

The alleged incident happened at around 3pm on Thursday 29th March outside The Old Moor Public House on Light Pipe Hall Road, in Oxbridge, Stockton.

The 45-year-old victim reported that he was riding a pedal cycle when he was approached by a man and woman and was allegedly subjected to an assault, during which he was slashed across the face with a piece of glass. He suffered injuries that required hospital treatment.

The suspects allegedly tried to steal his pedal cycle and other possessions. They made off empty handed.

The victim then spoke to two men at the junction of Dovecot Street and Ewbank Drive. The first man is believed to be aged in his twenties and was wearing a grey tracksuit and the second is believed to be aged in his late forties or early fifties and was wearing dark bottoms and a black jacket.

A 34-year-old man from Stockton was charged with attempted theft and assault. He has been remanded in custody until a court appearance on Friday 4th May.
