Thousands of Pounds of Lacoste Clothing Stolen in Ram Raid, Teesside Retail Park

Police were called to JD Sports on Teesside Park at around 11.20pm last night (Thursday 17th May) following reports that several thousands of pounds of clothing had been stolen following a ram raid.

A white Transit-style van reverse rammed the store shutter and it’s believed several men wearing balaclavas and hooded tops took Lacoste polo shirts, T-shirts and hoodies then left the scene.

About 10 minutes later, a member of the public reported a white van on fire in Balmoral Avenue in Thornaby and officers believe this is the vehicle involved in the ram raid.

The clothing has high tech security devices still attached and these will spray coloured ink onto the clothes if tampered with.  Anyone who may have seen or been offered Lacoste clothing for sale is asked to contact Cleveland Police.

We would also appeal for any motorists who may have seen (or captured on their dash cam) a white van travelling between Teesside Retail Park and Balmoral Avenue in Thornaby between 11.20pm and 11.30pm last night to contact DC Emma Stevenson of the Stockton Operational Crime Team via the 101 number.  Please quote Event 88107.
