Family of Man Killed in Ormesby Collision Pay Tribute to Him

The broken hearted family of a 69-year-old John Byrne who sadly died following a collision on Ormesby Road in Middlesbrough on Saturday 26th May have paid tribute to him.

1 His family said today: “Our dad was a loving father to Marion, Wendy and Daniel and a special granddad to Ashleigh, Lucy, Mason and Harley. He was also a big part of the community and lots of people knew him as Irish John as he moved here from Dublin when he was 17.

“Our dad was a true Boro fan, he was full of character and was funny, outgoing and a true gentleman with a heart of gold. He also still worked and was a hardworking man who was fit, healthy and full of life.

“We would particularly like to thank the off duty paramedic who tried his very best to save our dad and who also stayed with him on the way to the hospital and we would also like to thank the emergency services.

“We have lost a big part of our lives and we will deeply miss our dad and granddad. We as a family would like to request privacy at this time to enable us to grieve.”
