Appeal to Trace Potential Witness Following Sudden Death

Police are releasing a CCTV image of a potential witnesses they would like to speak to in connection with a suspected manslaughter investigation into the death of a woman following an attempted theft at Tesco on Corporation Road, Middlesbrough.

59-year-old Hilary Simmons sadly died after taking ill in the store shortly after the attempted theft at around 7.30pm on Monday 30th April and detectives are looking into whether her death could be connected.

Police would stress that they wish to contact this individual as she may have important information relevant to the ongoing investigation and there is no evidence to suggest that they are in anyway involved in the alleged offence and are urging them to come forward.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and attempted theft and both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
