Appeal Following Attempted Robbery in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Middlesbrough.

A 44-year-old male taxi driver attended Ferndale Court to pick up a fare at around 1am this morning, Thursday 21st June.

Whilst there a man opened the passenger door and threatened the driver with a large kitchen knife and demanded money from him.

A short scuffle ensued, leaving the victim with a minor injury to his hand, before the suspect made off without stealing anything.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his early twenties, around 5ft 9” tall, with a chubby face and wearing a camouflage jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms and a Russian-style hat.
