Woman, 71, Robbed in Coulby Newham

Police are appealing for information after a 71-year-old woman was robbed whilst walking over the bridge in Longhirst in Coulby Newham.

The incident occurred at 2pm on Monday 18th June when the victim was approached from behind by a man and he shouted for her to hand over her handbag.

He then assaulted her and snatched her handbag which contained her purse, bank cards, and Nokia mobile phone.

The man is described as being a white male, in his 20s and he has dark hair and was wearing a navy hooded top with the hood up and bottoms. He was last seen heading towards Bonnygrove Way.

As a result of the robbery the victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
