Woman Threatened by Burglar in Stockton

Police are appealing for information after a woman was threatened by a burglar in Stockton.

The incident happened at around 1.25am on Saturday 23rd June as a 68-year-old woman went into the garden her address on Wellington Street in Stockton where she was confronted by a man brandishing a knife.

The suspect followed her into the house and made threats towards her. He stole her handbag containing her purse with a small amount of cash inside and bank cards. He also took a bag containing a handheld steam cleaner.

He then made his way over the garden fence before making off on a pedal cycle onto Howden Walk. Thankfully the woman was uninjured.

The man is described as being white, around 5ft 5” tall, of skinny build wearing a dark hooded top, dark trousers and a scarf across his face.
