Appeal for Witnesses Following Serious Assaults on Yarm Road, Stockton

Police are appealing for information after two men aged 38 and 47 were reportedly assaulted inside a property on Yarm Road in Stockton.

Officers were called to the incident at 3:25am yesterday, Sunday 2nd September.

As a result of the assaults the 38-year-old man is currently in hospital where is he being treated for injuries to his head and is described as being in critical condition. The 47-year-old was treated for facial injuries.

Two men aged 32 and 35 have been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of wounding with intent and attempted murder and they both currently remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Jon Tapper said: “We are of the understanding that this was not a random incident and we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the community. We understand the levels of concern caused by incidents of this nature and increased patrols will remain in the area whilst enquiries continue. Please approach our officers with any concerns or queries you may have and they will happily assist.”
