Appeal after Burglars Steal Jewellery of Great Sentimental Value

Police are appealing for information after jewellery of great sentimental value was stolen during a burglary in Thornaby.

The burglary happened on Marykirk Road sometime between 4.45pm and 11.15pm on Wednesday 12th December.

Suspects left the home ransacked and they stole jewellery which had belonged to the late wife of a 76-year-old man, including a gold band wedding ring, gold necklaces and a ladies and mens silver Tissot watch from 1964.

Marykirk Road is close to the A174 next to Thornaby Industrial Estate, and officers would appeal to anyone who may have driven down that road on the afternoon/evening of the burglary who may have dashcam footage which could assist them in their investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who may have further information is asked to contact Detective Constable Craig Douglas from Stockton Operational Crime Team on 101, quoting event number 226676.
