We’re appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a 64-year-old man walking alone was attacked by two youths.

The attack happened when the man left the Teal Arms pub, Ingleby Barwick on Easter Sunday (April 21). Just after midnight and into the early hours of Monday April 22 he walked along Lowfields Avenue, which leads to The Pasture, and onto The Orchard.

The victim has told police that as he walked he saw two youths, male, white and aged about 16 – wearing dark coloured hooded tops. They shouted something at the victim, which he ignored, but the males then crossed the road, began to follow the victim and shouted racial abuse.

As the victim arrived at the corner of The Pasture, the two males approached and physically assaulted him. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
