Temporary Chief Constable to Host Community Click Web Chat

Cleveland’s Temporary Chief Constable Iain Spittal will be available to answer local residents’ questions on policing when he hosts a Community Click web chat tomorrow (Tuesday 24th May 2016) from 6pm.

The virtual session will allow the public to quiz the senior officer from the comfort of their own homes and he hopes the session will attract a variety of questions and lead to lively debate on policing matters.

Mr Spittal, who became Temporary Chief Constable  in December 2015, said: “Our Community Click events have proved very popular in the past and they are a great way to engage with people who may not want or are not able to attend public meetings.
“I also see next week’s web chat as an opportunity to showcase the work which is going on across the force and to give the public some insight into the demands and challenges our officers face on a daily basis.

“It will give me the chance to explain how the nature of policing is changing and how we are collaborating with neighbouring forces and taking innovative steps to ensure we deliver an efficient, high quality service to our communities.

“Working with partners and residents to keep everyone safe is our absolute priority.  I’d urge people to log on next Tuesday and submit questions so they can learn more about how we make best use of our resources to prevent crime and antisocial behaviour and intervene when they do occur.”
