Officers Appeal for Two Witnesses Following Aggravated Burglary in Thornaby

Police are appealing for two potential witnesses to come forward after an aggravated burglary occurred at a property on Elkington Close in Thornaby.

The incident occurred on Sunday 28th April at around 8:10pm when it is reported that four men wearing balaclavas entered the property and threatened the owners with a shot gun and a machete.

Following the incident it is believed the men left the scene in a grey Nissan Qashqai and then exited the vehicle on Chesterton Avenue and walked into Basselton Woods.

It is believed a woman walking a black dog and another man carrying a back pack may have witnessed the males going into the woods and officers are appealing for these two people to come forward as they may be able to assist with enquiries.

Three men aged 32, 22 and 36 were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
