An Independent Advisory Group is a panel of volunteers who are committed to working with the police for the benefit of the whole community, providing independent advice to the police about policing matters.
The aim of an IAG is to improve the quality of policing by being the critical link between the community and the police.
IAGs will consider local issues including critical incidents, operational practices and planning and, the local impact of decisions around force policy and procedure.
Cleveland Police has four Local IAG Groups across the Cleveland area in Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. There is also a Strategic IAG Group which consists of the chairs of the local groups.
As a member of a Cleveland Police IAG, you will be vital in giving us an impartial view and opinion on a variety of issues. Although we cannot always act on everything, we will always value your ideas and thoughts.
Could you offer advice and support to Cleveland Police?
Why not join one of our Independent Advisory Groups, where you can help influence local policing decisions on a wide range of issues?
For more information on joining the IAG, contact PC Neil Harrison: [email protected]
In your email, please provide us with a quick summary of your background, your links and interests with your community and your reasons for wanting to become a member.
