Victoria Fuller has been appointed the Deputy Chief Constable (DCC) of Cleveland Police following a thorough and rigorous recruitment process.
This included a stakeholder panel comprising members of the Force's staff networks, followed by a formal assessment process chaired by the Chief Constable of Cleveland Police with representatives from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland, Policing Adviser to the Chief Constable, Lord Bernard Hogan-Howe, QPM, retired Metropolitan Police Commissioner and an independent panel member from the local community.
Victoria joined the Force's Chief Officer Team on secondment in May 2022 as Temporary Assistant Chief Constable (T/ACC) before graduating from the College of Policing's Strategic Command Course (SCC) on 9 December 2022.
She brings a wealth of policing knowledge and expertise – having joined Durham Constabulary in 1999 after graduating from University of York with a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology. During her career, Victoria has performed a variety of roles, at different ranks and prior to being seconded to Cleveland, she led the Digital, Data and Technology command across Cumbria and Durham Constabularies as a Chief Superintendent.
Chief Constable Mark Webster said: “Following a demanding selection process, I'm pleased to appoint Victoria Fuller as our new Deputy Chief Constable.
“I am satisfied that we have found the right candidate with the necessary skills in place to drive forward the plans and priorities for the Force; tackling crime, protecting communities, protecting people, and for us all to be the best we can be.
“As T/ACC, Victoria has seen the demands that the Force faces and the tireless dedication of our officers and staff. Her new role will be key in delivering the improvements that we need to make to support our communities and our workforce."
