Lynne Swift joined Cleveland Police in May 2020.

Lynne began her career in the food manufacturing industry operating in a range of Executive and Director roles before specialising in Human Resources and Organisational Development Director roles across the UK. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), with over 20 years’ experience as a successful Human Resources Director.

Her career spans private, voluntary and public sectors.

In 2005 she moved into the Social Housing and Care sector, supporting East Thames Group London, transform into a high performing customer focused organisation.

In 2010 Lynne joined Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire Authority (BMKFA) as Director People and Organisational to head up the Human Resources and People Services functions and play a key role in shaping and delivering the organisational transformation programme.

Lynne was BMKFA’s lead officer for Emergency Services collaboration across the Thames Valley. She was also the National Fire Chiefs Council People Board strategic lead for Learning and Development and Chaired the Fire and Rescue Sector National Occupational Committee.

In 2018 her fire services achievements were recognised by being awarded the title of Officer of the British Empire (OBE).

Lynne left the fire service summer 2019 to enable world travel and recently returned to pursue interim assignments, which help public sector organisations improve services to the community, build professional HR services and develop people to realise their potential.
