What is a staff network?

Cleveland Police recognises the importance of staff networks in helping to foster an inclusive working environment in which every employee feels valued and supported. Staff networks allow historically marginalised voices to be heard within the organisation, helping to improve culture and processes for staff and public alike.

The networks also provide a safe space in which concerns can be raised in a supportive environment, as well as an opportunity to meet others who may have similar experiences. Cleveland Police is proud to have growing staff networks which ensures staff feel able to bring their whole selves to work.

The below are our staff networks:

  • Women’s Network
  • SAME – Support Association for Minority Ethnic staff
  • LGBT+ Network
  • DSN – Disability Support Network
  • CPA – Christian Police Association
  • Autism Association
  • Armed Forces Network
  • Vegan Network

Our staff and officers also have access to the following associations and programmes for welfare support:

  • Cleveland Police Federation
  • UNISON
  • Blue Light Programme
