Operation Artemis - Hartlepool

Our officers have gathered at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre this morning for the Operation Artemis briefing.

The briefing will go through the order of the day before District Commander Martin Hopps addresses officers.

Operation Artemis is a new operation for Cleveland Police, bringing together resources from across the force, as well as regional partners.

The aim of the operation is to conduct a day of action to meet operational requirements in the district, consisting of focussed activity targeting crime and antisocial behaviour.

Four people have been arrested so far as part Operation Artemis in Hartlepool.

Three men were arrested at an address in Mitchell Street on suspicion of Cultivation of Cannabis and Firearms Offences.

A 16 year old was arrested for Witness Intimidation at an address in Westbourne Road.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of Cultivation of Cannabis after officers attended a property in Dent Street.

60 cannabis plants along with around 90 saplings were found when officers searched the property as part of Operation Artemis this morning.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs at an address in Warren Road.

We have been at Burbank Street with our partners at the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency, protecting those who can't protect themselves and preventing potential fatalities by conducting roadside vehicle checks for defects. 

A tenth person has been arrested as part of Operation Artemis in Hartlepool today.

The man was arrested on suspicion of Conspiracy to Supply Class A Drugs after being pulled over by Roads Policing Officers working with the DVSA targeting those who ignore laws that are there to keep people safe on our roads.

One van was seized from an uninsured driver on Mainsforth Terrace. Just round the corner, a suspected stolen vehicle was seized after being found parked on Burbank Street.

A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of Robbery after officers attended a property in Motherwell Road.

This arrest is the eleventh arrest so far today, which is seeing Operation Artemis target criminal activity across Hartlepool today.

Our police motorbikes are out in Hartlepool this afternoon carrying out patrols for off road bikes.

PC Geoff Coggin visited St Joseph's Primary School in Hartlepool to deliver an assembly on anti-social behaviour and staying safe.
