A variety of digital channels will allow the public to communicate with us in new ways, to report crime and to carry out routine transactions.
To support this vision we are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to work for Cleveland Police as a Principal Network Support Engineer. You will take a lead role in the design, configuration, build and testing of new network and telephony services, which will also include LAN / WAN and Unified Comms platforms. Knowledge and expertise in this area is vital as you will be the lead engineer representing the Network and Telecoms team, and also deputise for the Team Manager when required. We are looking for candidates to demonstrate their commitment and focus on providing efficient and effective ICT services ensuring best practice frameworks are followed.
You will be educated to HNC or degree level, or possess equivalent ICT experience. An understanding of the ITIL principles and standards for Service Delivery and Support is required also. In addition to this we are also looking for candidates who are Cisco Certified Network Associates / Professionals. You must be able to demonstrate experience of working within Telecoms voice and data networking.
This is a busy role in a large and complex organisation so you will need to be adept at working in such an environment, making sound decisions, actively seeking solutions to problems, working with a range of departments and partner organisations.
